Tip: Cook before freezing.

Store beetroot fresh in a cool, dark place. They are best cooked before being frozen.

Try to choose only healthy, small/medium sized beetroot as this is best for freezing. To prepare for cooking, cut the leaves off but keep the short stalks. Wash and then cook in boiling water until tender (10-30mins).

Rinse in cold water and then peel the skins. You can then either slice into pieces or leave them whole. Before freezing, place into a polythene bag/container, remove as much air as possible and label.
