PVC edged kitchen doors, bedroom doors and drawer fronts are made using MFC, which is Melamine Faced Chipboard. Usually both faces are melamine faced and there are many colours to choose from. MFC is the same material most kitchen or bedroom cabinets are made from. The doors or drawer fronts are cut from a large panel of MFC to the relevant smaller sizes and then edged in a 2mm or 3mm thick PVC edge all round along the four edges. This is done on a wood working machine called an edgebander, which automatically applies the glue and the PVC edge and trims off all excess to give a nice edge finish.
